Wyatt's story
Wyatt ❤️ 6/17/2012- 11/10/2025 Wyatt was born June 17, 2012. He was bred by Chuck Hanlon of Royalty Puppies in Florida. I became Wyatt’s mom 8 weeks later at the Kentucky Horse Park and the rest is history. We spent the next 13.5 incredible years together, always side by side. We traveled all over the country together and he stood by me through all of life’s ups and downs. We were inseparable. If you knew me, you knew Wyatt. He was the best thing that ever happened to me. On November 10, 2025, the greatest love of my life and soulmate, Wyatt, passed away at home in my arms. We were surrounded by family. He fought the most brave and courageous battle against the beast called lymphoma. He was so unbelievably strong throughout the whole fight the last couple of months. I am in awe of his strength and bravery. I am always in awe of him. He tried so hard to stay here with me but his body fought as hard and as long as it could. It feels so unfair that such a pure, loving, and innocent dog would have to face such a cruel diagnosis. I am not sure I will ever understand it. I am completely shattered and heartbroken without him here. Wyatt was and always will be my best friend, my soulmate, and my greatest love. There will never be enough words to do justice as to what he means to me. He was the only constant in my life for almost 14 years. My constant companion that offered the purest unconditional love and a steadfast loyalty that only he could ever provide. He brought sunshine to the darkest of days. He provided such warmth, comfort, and calmness in times of uncertainty. He created pure joy and happiness in every moment we shared. He was always happy. He was, without a doubt, the best part of every single day. It never mattered what we were doing or where we were going, we just wanted to be together because that was our happy place. He was and always will be my entire world. It was the greatest privilege of my life to be his mom and to be blessed with a lifetime of his love. I only wish we had longer together. I am honored and beyond thankful that he chose me all those years ago and I hope he continues to choose me in every lifetime. I want to share some positive, funny memories of my little Wy Guy because that is how he deserves to be remembered. If you knew Wyatt, you knew he loved water! It didn’t matter if it was the beach, a hose, a water bucket- he wanted that water and he would do anything to get to it. He had so much fun playing in water and then being a little inappropriate with the towels used to dry him off! His favorite game ever since he was a baby was keep away. He was so good at it too! I tried so hard to teach him the game of fetch but eventually accepted that keep away was just going to be our thing and he loved it. Wyatt was so talkative especially when he was excited about something! We would have full conversations and he would even say “I love you” to me with his howls. I loved our big, loud, chats that we shared. He also was the best greeter you would ever meet. Every single day when I walked in the door, whether I was gone all day at work or for only 5 minutes, he would greet me with so much happiness and excitement that he couldn’t contain himself! He would always run around to quickly find a toy and carry it around as he wiggled and howled while I pet him. It was my favorite part of every single day. He was the best adventure buddy. We traveled all over the country together side by side, moving to several different states, hiking countless mountains, meeting so many friends along the way, and spending such fun times together. He loved car rides so much and he was the best road tripper you’ll ever know! I always had the window down for Wy Wy to feel the wind in his hair, even if the other people in the car were cold. Anything for my boy! He was fiercely loyal to me. He was my shadow. He was always directly at my feet whether I was in the bathroom or on the couch, he was right there next to me. Wyatt’s favorite little habit was carrying around his blue bowl. We called it his “bowly wowly”. He would eat his meal and immediately run around the house carrying his bowl for everyone to see! He was so proud! He loved cheese sticks and ice cream. His eyes would get so big when he knew he was getting a little treat. He was the funniest, fluffiest little billy goat out there. I could talk about our memories for years and never even come close to covering all of them. Wyatt- I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. I know in my soul that we will be together forever. I miss you so much and I am heartbroken without you here with me. Thank you for giving me the most special bond I have ever experienced, one that will last forever. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for your unwavering loyalty. Thank you for being there for me day in and day out without judgement. Thank you for being my strength when I was weak, my calm when I was restless, my guide when I was lost, my joy when I was sad, and my constant in an always changing world. I will never forget how much love you freely gave me. I hope I made you proud with how hard I fought for you and how I always tried to do what was best for you. I love you so much Wy Guy and I always will. I can’t wait to see you again.
