Jackson's story

From the moment he chose me—yes, he chose me—I knew Jackson was my guy. I had picked a different puppy initially that I had been going back for, but when I got there one look from that signature Jackson side-eye changed everything and he was the puppy for me. For almost fourteen and a half years, he was my partner, my baby, my co-pilot, my best friend, and the love of my life. We traveled the world together and spent countless days and nights snuggling. Jackson had a big personality in a little body. He knew what he wanted and exactly how to get it. Some might say he was a little bossy, but to me, he was simply communicating. He loved me—and mostly only me. My family joked that he was “broken” whenever I wasn’t around. His favorite toys were Lambchops, and he had more than 40 of them. His favorite treat was pumpkin ice cream—really, anything pumpkin. His favorite place was beside me, with the park as a close second, where he played with his friends Winston and Lacey almost every day. He was the strongest little boy, fighting liver cancer for two years like a champ. No one knew what he was going through, and that’s exactly how we wanted it. A few short months ago, he crossed the rainbow bridge, and the pain of losing him is indescribable. My only prayer is that he is happy, free from pain, and that one day we will be together again.
